How to choose an AI marketing tool
There are thousands of AI tools aimed at marketers, and most of them demo well. The ones that stick are the ones that fit a job you already do every week. Before you sign up, write down the task, how often you do it and what the output has to look like. Then judge each tool against that, not against its landing page.
What to check before you pay
- Pricing at your volume. Many tools price by words, credits or seats. The starting price is rarely what a team pays.
- Integrations. A tool that publishes straight to your CMS, scheduler or ad account saves more time than a better model you have to copy and paste from.
- Brand voice and review. Look for style guides, approval steps and version history if more than one person touches the output.
- Data and ownership. Check whether your inputs are used for training and who owns what the tool generates.
- A way out. Can you export your work if you leave?

What is an AI marketing tool?
Software that uses AI models to do part of a marketing job: drafting copy, researching keywords, scheduling posts, generating ad creative, editing video or summarising campaign data. Most still need a person to review the output before it goes live.
Are free AI marketing tools good enough?
For trying a workflow, often yes. Free plans usually cap usage, add watermarks or leave out team features. Use the free plan filter to find them, then check the limits on the tool's own pricing page before you build a process around it.
How do I choose between two similar tools?
Start with the job and the tools you already use. Compare integrations, the starting price for the plan you would actually need, and whether there is a free trial. The compare page puts up to three tools side by side.
